My Heathy Menu - Simple Homemade Meals

My Easy Healthy Menu

Eating healthy is fun when you know what is actually healthy for you! I make most of my food at home which makes it easier too. Once you know what ingredients to avoid (some listed at the bottom), you feel so much better about your diet. I eat everything - meat, dairy, carbs, coffee.. but I am going more and more organic to avoid pesticides and I don't buy much processed & packaged food anymore. I barely exercise these days and I stay trim at 31 and I know improving my diet has been a part of that. I also fast on Thursdays and eat maybe twice a day or just as I'm hungry. Health is a journey. Just when you think you've got a handle on it, you find out there's more.. like detoxing your body. Highly recommend! Here are some of the foods I eat regularly. I eat a pretty simple diet. Sometimes when I get bored I try a new recipe. Enjoy.

Breakfast:

  • Eggs & Homemade Sourdough Bread + Avocado & Grapefruit
  • Any fruit: Bananas, oranges, grapefruit..
  • Organic Oatmeal + organic natural peanut butter + milk & fruit
  • Organic Cream of Wheat
  • Homemade Keifer shake - Keifer, frozen fruit, milk, honey or maple syrup
  • Breakfast tacos: scrambled eggs, cheese, green pepper Cholula hot sauce or salsa
  • Cuban Breakfast: Poached eggs, black beans, rice, plantains (fried bananas), & beef bacon

Lunch / Snack:

  • Caprices Salad: Sliced tomatoes, fresh basil mozzarella, olive oil, balsamic vinaigrette, salt & pepper
  • Full fat Greek yogurt and raw unrefined honey
  • Cucumbers slices & sharp cheddar cheese
  • Tomatoes sliced + salt & pepper
  • Beef salami & sharp cheddar cheese, mozzarella or swiss
  • Almonds, sunflower seeds, walnuts, pistachios, cashews

Not as Healthy Dinners: (but I make them sometimes)

  • Tortellini, grass fed beef & spaghetti sauce + Parmesan - not the healthiest
  • Sun dried Tomato cream sauce chicken & organic noodles

Drinks:

  • Fresh Juice - carrots, celery, lemon, ginger, garlic
  • Juice: Apples + lemon
  • Cup of Milk: raw milk or Vitamin D organic milk
  • Limeade: Lime, mint leaf, mape syrup & water blended
  • Keifer Shake - I make homemade keifer now - strawberries, keifer, milk, maple syrup or honey
  • Water: I drink Kangen Alkaline water made from my ionizer machine

Things I try to stay away from:

  • Bleached flour
  • Bleached sugar
  • Bleached salt
  • Seed oils - vegetable oil, canola oil, peanut oil, soybean oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, corn oil, cotton seed oil, sesame oil, rice bran oil - stay away from all of them. They are highly processed/heated & are in much of our processed & vegan foods.
  • Fried foods
  • Pork
  • Crustaceans - shrimp, crab, lobster.. bottom feeders
  • Pesticides
  • Processed foods - things on a shelf - crackers, boxed foods,
  • Processed meats - packaged lunch meat
  • Soda/Pop & acidic drinks - sports drinks, synthetic caffeine (any caffeine that is not coffee or tea based)
  • Dyes in drinks/foods
  • Vegan alternatives - usually full of sugar & seed oils
  • Store bought salad dressings - seed oils, sugar
  • High fructose corn syrup - Thank you Mom, been avoiding this a long time!
  • Alcohol
  • No water in plastic water bottles

Ideal things to buy:

  • Grass fed beef - gives you lots of nutrients
  • Organic chicken
  • Mercury-free fish
  • Farm fresh or organic eggs
  • Raw cheese or organic cheese
  • Organic fruits & vegetables
  • Raw milk or organic vitamin D milk
  • Organic grains & pastas
  • Raw nuts
  • Grass fed butter, tallow (rendered beef fat), olive oil (not heated), coconut oil, avocado oil, ghee
  • Raw unrefined honey, organic grade A maple syrup
  • Organic vitamins and supplements
  • Alkaline Ionized water (not store bought) - I filter & ionize my water at home with a Kangen machine from Japan (buy one through me if you want one. - they're expensive but worth it. It makes the water 6x more hydrating, anti-oxidant & anti-inflammatory. Kangen is the best brand & probably the longest lasting.)
  • Well water - having your own well is ideal. Even better if you run it through a water ionizer.
  • Reverse osmosis at Walmart or somewhere better. Reverse Osmosis takes the minerals out of your water, so you will need to buy them separately.
  • Trace minerals

Health Tips:

Meat and lots of fats in your diet are great. Also try to eat fermented foods like sourdough, keifer, kombucha if your body is good with it. Raw milk has the enzymes in it to help you digest it, so sometimes people who are lactose intolerant can drink it! Just make sure your local dairy farm test their milk.

Ps. I haven't started buying beef salami and bacon yet, so I have pork occasionally, but I can't recommend pork anything. I believe pork should really be out of our diet. I try to eat Biblically clean meats because I believe God told us not to eat them for a reason. Science has shown He knew why He told us no. It's not as much of a religious conviction because in the New Testament clean eating isn't salvation bearing and foods don't make us unclean or rebellious toward God anymore - Salvation is based on the condition of our heart toward God. But I want to live long without disease and I know our foods, especially sugar, and some meats contribute to problems in our body. So that's where I come from on that.:)

Ps. #2 - I am a charismatic/pentecostal/Assemblies of God Christian if you're wondering. (I believe all the gifts of the new testmant are still for today - healing, speaking in tongues, prophecy, etc) I don't follow Kosher laws but I do look to the Bible for my dietary direction. In the beginning God gave us vegetables and every seed bearing plant with Adam & Eve. They were drinking milk and cheese early on. Later after the flood, God gave Noah meat to eat too. God had the priests eating meat as well, the most holy men. They ate grains, and olive oil, beef etc. I don't believe in veganism. Often vegans eat a lot of unhealthy seed oil filled processed meat & dairy substitutions and often become nutrient deficient in a few years. I appreciate not wanting animals to be treated like many farms do today, but that is a separate issue than eating meat. I don't believe in any extreme diet - unless for health reasons to heal the body. Example - the carnivore diet seems to have cured my brother from Lyme disease. Others go on all fruits and vegetables and kangen water for 3 months and their colons become clear again after eating the processed American diet. We all get to choose how we eat, but the health results will be different based on our choices. I follow more of an Ancestral Diet meaning what our ancestors ate. Natural, unprocessed, homemade foods, ideally grown or raised locally - Meats, grains, dairy, fermented foods, raw milk, nuts, & honey. :) & I fast regularly.

Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost. what we eat can diminish or cut short our ability to carry out the great commission to spread the gospel and be active for the Lord. Too many people are dying of unnecessary diseases and living with inflammation and pain that is diet related. Many cancers, diabetes & chronic pain can be avoided or reversed with diet changes. We as the body of Christ can live different than the world around us if we seek God's wisdom for every area of our life, including health!

I will add more to my menu as I think of more things I eat and expand my horizons. :)

God bless you!
